Is RS now using quantum computers?

And that loose coupling was built by the lowest bidder. And the metrics dashboard says that an acceptable amount of customers are pissed off so they won’t fix it.

Of course. Doesn't excuse it.

It would be mildly amusing to be a fly on the wall watching all the finger pointing, ducking and shrugging.

Their drones are rather sheepishy admitting that they are having to deal with a lot of complaints. Supporting evidence: I'm being repeatedly asked if I'll take part in a  survey.

It doesn't matter what they measure. It's the internal attitude that defines the success criteria. For example my recent discussion with a client who has 7x the revenue of RS Group

me: your MTTR is really bad. Look it's over 25h and it needs to be under 1h to meet your contractual objectives.

client: how can we measure this differently?

me: fix your fucked up process and priorities and improve quality.

client: but that's more expensive than fudging the data so we don't have to report it our investors.

me:  :palm:

I guarantee that's what's happening at RS. Nothing will be fixed.

Oh, never heard that, oh no. Perish the thought

I might suspect "... so I don't have to tell the person who sets my salary in a way that they have to tell their boss who must disclose it to investors".

On occasions I've had to use phrases like "Yes, you coooouuuld do that. But you could walk across a road without looking".

I wouldn't bet otherwise, but hope springs eternal. Doesn't it?

So that was amusingly inefficient ...

My latest with Farnell was less than an hour apart.
Things I ordered were also less massive, one DS112 and one DS114, Weller tips.
Single order but finally two invoices.

First came with regular mail, with DHL sticker, second was delivered by DHL.
Both door to door, no wonder transportation is costly.
