I mentioned a while back where a Canon SX-100IS camera I was ready to throw in the bin was rated at 140 shots using alkalines but in reality would only take about 30 shots even with name brand batteries. By using the Energizer Lithiums in this now old camera they have given it a whole new life altogether.
Review sites like
https://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/SX100IS/SX100ISA6.HTMsuggested using nimh instead of alkalines. Eneloops would have been available during the time the SX-100IS was around, but not well known for its lsd characteristics.
I had a Canon A80 around that time and used non lsd AA Energizers. They easily gave me over 200 to 300 shots, but if I didn't charge them in 30 to 60 days, they went flat.
Now, I purposely use the Ikea Ladda lsd 1000mAh AA (x4) in my A80. I don't take that many pictures so if I get 100 to 150 shots, I'm fine, but the 1000mAh are significantly lighter making the A80 easier to handle.
Yes, I know I'm a dinosaur for using the A80 when people just whip out their $1000 iphone or Samsung today.
PS. If I find a $10 CDN used Canon 2AA battery camera on my local kijiji, I'm going to buy it.
