--- Quote from: langwadt on December 27, 2020, 05:00:23 pm ---and YT shouldn't get anything for providing massive amounts of storage and bandwidth? --- End quote --- Not my problem, I'm not a charity for corporations. It's up to them to find a viable business model, and given YT is part of Google which is one of the wealthiest corporations in the world they don't seem to be having a problem with that. They make billions of dollars just harvesting data and building profiles on those who visit the site and watch the videos. There are also lots of ways of advertising that are not intrusive or disruptive, the advertisers have done it to themselves and have only themselves to blame. They made the choice of making ads ever more annoying in a desperate grab for our attention and the result has been an ever increasing number of people who get fed up and just block it all. |

Youtueb are just inserting more midroll ads. Those with Youtube Premium never see any ads. |

And I support creators that I watch. --- End quote --- The creators will get more if you give to them using Bitcoin, Patreon, Subscribestar, etc. and then use an adblocker to remove the ads. --- End quote --- Yes, but most people watch videos on Youtueb from countless different creator, most of whom you'll never bother to support or donate to. Youtube Premium is at lest a way to ensure that the creator of every video you watch gets something. |
