Not my problem, I'm not a charity for corporations. It's up to them to find a viable business model

They have, it's called Youtube Premium.

Some will pay, some will use an ad blocker, serving videos to those using blockers is just a cost of doing business IMO, they're making a fortune so it seems to be working. I watch youtube so little that it's not even really worth subscribing, maybe 5 or 6 videos a month but it's probably a good deal for those who watch it more.

I totally agree with those who use adblockers and such. Hell, when some tech youtuber spends hours and days working on a video, and puts it up there for free, why the hell should I click on a freakin' ad to give him 0.01 pico-cents of revenue? I'll just blame some "greedy corporation", and ignore the fact that I'm kicking the creator in the teeth. This stuff should be FREE. Just like everything else in this world is free, right? Free training at college, free automobiles, free housing...I'm ENTITLED to free stuff. And moreover, if I then ask the creator for some help, or for a video on a different subject, he should respond right away. For free. And any criticisms I give him come with the territory. Deal with it, dude.
Is youtube changing? Well, I suspect for tech youtubers it is. Because of attitudes like this. I suspect in the not-to-distant future youtube will ultimately devolve into an entertainment-only paid TV/cable channel like all the others. Because sadly, at the end of the day, all people REALLY want is entertainment. Prank videos, cats playing pianos, music videos, neighborhood tours, unboxing videos....
People only want real tech stuff when they need a quick answer to a question from school or work, or help with a hobby. And it has to be less than 4 minutes. Otherwise, learning gives them a headache.
We love to blame big corporations, but it's not about them. They're doing what their viewers want, because that's what makes money. Just like YOU do what your employer or customers want. That's how you make income. Because virtually nobody does stuff for free in the real world.
Bud:
If those tech youtubers spend hours and days working on a video, all to get my 0.01 from me by clicking on ads, they should find a better job.
The entire youtube can go to Hell and i wil not cry. World was a better place before youtube.

Youtube (and the internet in general) goes down the drain because of two things: censorship and advertisement.
I would like to see disappear all ads and that all websites that use advertisement for revenue go behind a paywall instead.
My way to try to make this happen is to use Firefox with some addons like adblock, privacy badger, canvasblocker and cookie auto delete. >:D
Fortunately, more and more (news)sites disappear behind paywalls these days. And that's exactly where I want them.
I hope the rest follows.
Normally I don't block the ads on top of this page but that blinking/moving ad from jlpcb is annoying so
I removed it with two mouseclicks. (right-click on it -> ABP block element)
I can't stand flashing/moving banners.

Yeah, I mainly use Firefox with an extension that removes Youtube ads, so hardly see any.
But I occasionally use Chrome or Opera on mobile devices, and I have noticed many videos are now bombarded with ads compared to what it was even a few months ago. I don't know if there's any way (any extension or such) to avoid ads in Chrome or Opera? Or if there is any Android Youtube viewer that can cut ads?
