Sorry Italy, Cyprus has just stolen your EU/banking crisis spotlight. Real edge-of-chair stuff going on right now.
I wonder how much that has filtered through the mainstream media in the last couple of days, and how many here know about the Cyprus drama? Don't have a TV, so I don't know.
Anyway, if you want to see the future of government theft of citizen's money, and what happens then, keep an eye on

http://barnhardt.biz/ is always fun too - if you don't mind the heavy religious angle.
It's quite exciting. Countdown to cascading banking implosions in the EU, and ... ?
How ironic that this ball was set rolling by an actual explosion: google cyprus explosion 2011
And especially ironic considering the nature of the meddling in other country's affairs that caused that.
Oh wow. Just now, news they extend the 'bank holiday' to Friday. A whole week with no access to bank accounts, no wire transfers... way to piss off everyone even more. Including numerous Russian billionaires, who's response is likely to be unorthodox.
I'm glad I have no money in a bank.
