Record PC Video with MIC chat as I go

I have to explain a few concepts that involve doing stuff on a PC... basically it will be approx 30 mins sessions during which I will type things into the PC and watch things happen during which time I will narrate what I am doing with a headset.
I will be using Windows 10 (although the actual stuff is within a VMWare Player Window).  Due to my amateur nature is likely that I will mess a few things up so I will need to be able to chop out chunks when I redo them and possibly add the odd caption.
The final product doesn't need to look professional as the audience is just a few people.
Any suggestions?  I can pay for software but it needs to be <$200 and preferably nearer zero.

OBS to record the screen capture and audio, and maybe DaVinci Resolve to edit it, both free.

Just trying out Resolve now... My default settings were not helpful.... but the following video seems to help...
