JBC C245 Clone

Yes, I kid you not. It is really miles ahead of my T12 station (those who want to believe it's worse than the fx951 go ahead, I'm not in your camp)

Internal 24V psu is VERY beefy for its size 24V 8A SMPS inside. Although you might say "yeah but JBC has some magic sauce!" Well not really, end of the day irons are irons this is essentially a more powerful T12 and so far my experience with it has been nothing short of impressive
It's really so fast when I first turned it on I thought it was broken when it reached 270c the moment I looked back at the display
It too has auto detection for the tip!

Thanks for sharing. That said, you better check if the enclosure itself is properly grounded (given the fact it's made out of metal) and as for it being "a more powerful T12" I'd say you're exaggerating, it probably heats a bit more quickly, but with the same tip & proper temperature calibiration, there shouldn't be a huge performance difference between em.
Shock:
Why worry about JBC clones even? The Unisolder is $100 for the completed PCBs with display and it runs every notable handpiece including Pace, Weller, JBC even some Ersa, plus all the tweezers. Plus the firmware is well developed, tested and has button and encoder control.

Every entire clone is rubbish now it's just plug and play. You can run the original handpieces or clone handpieces as long as you know it's wire correctly no problem.

Where's the teardown pictures, we want to see the miles ahead inside and the tiny mosfet switching the heater on ;)
I'll bet it still has a flimsy stand that doesn't fit so good. Why does the sticker say "do not use during thunder storm weather" or "wet hands" ?  I think AvE must have made it :palm:

Higher power soldering tips are not the Holy Grail. The lack of (tip and cable) copper, crappy plating, skinny cord, poor connections to cartridge etc. all add up to a hassle some people don't mind for the cost savings, others strongly dislike it all.

The mains SMPS PCB is just glued down? Bueller, Bueller! At least they used fish paper...  no sign of a safety ground  :scared:
The controller displays a bogus temperature when a tip is cooled. I dunno, this station needs some work.
