Hi Guys, I'm after a new soldering station and have narrowed my selection to JBC or Pace ADS200... I'm going to be using it for console repairs so will be doing hdmi ports hdmi retimer chips etc... What are the differences between the JBC cd2bqe, cd2bqe, cd2sqe, cd2se? Also should I get t245 or t210 handle? What are the differences between the handles? The Pace is about £260 compared to about £400 for JBC... Is there much difference performance wise? Thank you |

Read the Pace threads here. Look at the JBC website to see the difference between handles or find some youtube reviews. ADS200 is better value and cheaper tips. T210: https://www.jbctools.com/t210-handles.html (small) T245: https://www.jbctools.com/t245-a-general-purpose-handle-product-45.html (normal) Your going to want a hot air station as well. Should be in this area of the forum: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/reviews/ |

hi, just buyed a JBC cd-2bqe from eleshop and it think it's one of the top 3.I already used for years metcals starting from 1100 euros and up to 26.000 euros and many other soldering stuff. I did myself a solomon sl-30 based controller with atmega like 12 years ago. well this 500 euros jbc beats metcal imho. Pace it's not really my love, some people says heating big things is not lined with the 2bqe take the 245 of course. the bits and the station are not cheap or hobby-like, but I regret not buying this later all the other soldering bench stuff is now in the drawer...only a portable sl30 still sleeps in my mobile repair case regards, pierre |

They both have similar heating/recovery speed but regulate a little differently near set temp. Power difference will be virtually unnoticeable under normal use, for fine smd soldering even less as fewer heating pulses are required. The Pace TD200 (aluminum!) handpiece is fairly slim and has a short tip to grip working distance. They do smd tips down to 0.2mm, so fine smd work is no problem. It's the Pace ADS200 with instant setback stand all day for me, it's not perfect but JBC doesn't even put the power button on the front of their station nor have a detachable stand. I don't like JBCs display/angle and that it doesn't really work well on a shelf. Pace is way cheaper to setup and they sell inexpensive durable cartridge tips. |
