Joined-up (tech) thinking

Just caught this on BBC News channel:

1934220-0

I wonder how they think a viewer can scan the QR code if they are not already viewing it live.

As far as a QR code to live streaming goes, maybe they expected still images of the video to be posted on webpages, and wanted to embed something which could let people quickly go from finding a picture (some minutes, hours or days old) to accessing a live webpage.

If only the QR code could point viewers to sensible coverage instead, like Carl Heneghan's analysis of the whole ****ed up affair.

Hardly going to be live if it's days or even hours old. In fact, I just tried it and it links to a page saying it's not available.

Are Smartphones now required to access meaningful comments on this site?  Sad.
