L4909 triple adjustable regulator - pin compatible replacement?
« on: September 15, 2015, 01:39:12 pm »
Hi, I'm fixing a stereo for a mate, and I've deduced (hopefully correctly!) that the L4909 multiregulator is goosed on two of its three channels.

This item is obsolete, can anyone suggest a drop in replacement before I go to Bodge City?

Cheers!

"Goosed", is that a technical term?  ;)

Are you sure? Regulators, be it single or multi channel, are usually pretty hard to destroy thanks to all their protection circuitry. How did you come to the conclusion that it is broken?

Sorry, "goosed" must only be a technical term where I did my training!

I reckon it's up the swanny as outputs 2 & 3 show only 0.2v (when the respective EN signals are high of course).  The setting resistors measure correctly, and the circuits they are supplying don't seem shorted or anything.  Also, it looks like it's got pretty hot in the past...
