This large, excellent,  power electronics company are located in a beautiful location on the very Northern coast of Scotland.......
https://www.denchipower.com/

Here is their location….
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Denchi+Power+Ltd/@58.5954716,-3.5528034,15z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0xb6b9eac337058b99?sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi_2r638Z3kAhVHyKQKHfZlDXYQ_BIwC3oECAsQCw

Do you  think there is any danger of the company leaving this beautiful location and going down to the south of UK? ……ie, relocating so as to make recruitment of engineers easier?
Also, do you suspect the company may re-locate to the EU mainland after Brexit? (many UK electronics companies are going to Berlin due to Brexit)

I imagine that re-locating would, in real terms, not  be that expensive.
Few would doubt that re-location to a less remote area would result in more engineer availability....important in UK where Indiginous engineers are getting rare, and EU ones scarce after Brexit.

Here we go again.

If they managed so far, they would be fine.

If a company is founded and located in a place like that, it's often because that's where the CEO/original founder wanted to live. Once a company is established in a certain location, they tend not to move very far nor very frequently as moving is incredibly disruptive. (Even moving 5 miles, we lost a few employees over it.)

I wouldn't expect it to be likely to move, because I don't expect the typical company to move.

Agreed.

Only the big ones can pull that off without too much damage (actually some will even take advantage of a move to reduce payroll!)

Bearing in mind their market and customer base I'd imagine there's far more risk from Scottish independence than Brexit.

Either way, this is navel gazing. Check their history, financials and customer base. True, there is likely to be a much smaller local talent pool up there, but equally I'd imagine the quality of life is something to behold. For some, that's quite a pull.

I note the CEO is based in Cambridge. But the company appears to be a couple of decades old. I doubt the CEO visits more than twice a month. The who-are-we page is otherwise finance, sales and admin people bar one. That says to me it's not very innovative, living off recurring government military contracts.

The only way to get a feel for a place like this is to go there and press the flesh.

Really not worth worrying about... Until you get an interview, a job offer, and employment with them.

If you're an employee then they are bound to offer some form of relocation package. If you're not an employee then it really doesn't matter.
Best Regards, Chris
