Many people assumed an electronic wallet or something like a LBRY logo plaque to hang on the wall, or a special USB key, maybe a multi-tool?

Ok wow now I'm quoting myself....  :-DD

Thank you Dave for posting your video on the LBRY gift! Perfect timing after my previous post's question! Congratulations on receiving 100,000 LBC's...  even today at 15 cents an LBC that's a nice $1500 USD bonus! It sounds like they are "locked down" for 2 years... so in 2 years that may be worth way more. If it goes the way of Bitcoin, you may be sitting on a fortune!!! Woo!!!

From your video I gather that you can check to see the cryptocurrency is there but it won't actually be transferable to your LBRY account for 2 years? If that is the case, how can you "use it" to influence LBRY (which I gather can only be done by using LBC's to promote video, stake claims, tip, etc...). Or does it mean you can have it in your LBRY wallet and use it in your LBRY app but can't "cash it out" (i.e. convert from LBC to some other cryptocurrency or sell it for fiat currency) for 2 years? I'm a bit confused as which is the case.

I don't know how that compares to your YouTube ad revenue, and whether you are feeling yet if LBRY is cannibalizing some of your YouTube views because you share the same content on both. I am trying to make DIFFERENT content on my LBRY channel although for now there are a few overlaps (although I am trying to separate the 2 contents). What is the best strategy? Is it better to have LBRY and YouTube be exact duplicates of each other? Essentially... are you reaching out to build 2 different audiences, or just splitting the same audience between 2 sites? Does LBRY then give a better return than YouTube ad-revenue? Or is this just a way of having a "backup" in case of the ad-pocalypse? Given that your content is advertiser-friendly and you should be able to do fine on both platforms, what do you do? Any metrics thus far?

As for me, I'm not a professional YouTuber, I'm just helping to be a part of the experiment and interested to see how this all plays out.

Lo and behold, there is a checkmark (which was left unchecked) for "Show mature content" which was unbeknown to me and perhaps most people who visit LBRY for the first time. The video linked above does open one's eyes.  ::)   :-DD

I was considering maybe using LBRY as a secondary site for my channel, after Dave mentioned he uses it for EEVBlog. However,  my understanding is that LBRY will let you monetize but viewers have to pay to view, as there is no ad-supported monetization. While it may be insignificant to charge people even 1 penny, the fact that they need to pay somehow may be too much of a hassle for most people to bother. Perhaps if their site injects bit-mining code into your browser so that it mines some bitcoin while you are on their site, it will "pay" for the video views automatically that way?

Err, my content on LBRY is free, as are all the other channels I subscribe to on there.

LBC is nowhere near 15c

Yes, I can see it on the blockchain.
No I can't use it to support my content unfortunately, I just guessed I could.

I don't care if other platform "canibalise" my Youtube views, that's up to the viewers, I just give them a choice.

It should not be better, it is downloaded from Youtube and is a much smaller file size than my upload to youtube.
As an example, my upload for a recent video was 700MB, but the imported LBRY version was 160MB.

Ah I thought you might be uploading the master files. In that case, it's all in my head.
