LCSC only 4 currencies now!

<< < (2/2)

Assuming you're talking about card transactions, not sure what the problem is - selecting USD for the currency  on card transactions uses the card company's exchange rate,  which is typically better than if the seller charges in your own currency at their rate.
This is certainly the case for UK, YMMV for others.

Same for me in NZ, always more expensive to let the seller/platform do the conversion to my cards currency.
The offshore service margin I get changed by my bank for payment in another currency is always the better option.

It's usually not the default option either. They're just trying to grab some more of your money as a conversion fee and hope you don't notice.

I'd be happy to pay in RMB instead of USD as it's dropping wrt AUD. I always prefer my card as its exchange rate is better than seller rates. Even with PayPal you can choose to be charged in the original currency instead of using PayPal's conversion; they make that the default to catch lazy people. And applies to not just CN purchases.

Interesting that AUD and NZD did not make the cut. Buyers in those countries will have to do conversion to one of the others to make the order fly.

As LCSC is closely intertwined with JLCPCB, does this also affect that venue ?

Doesn't seem to. JLCPCB still supports 9 currencies (at least accessing it from here). LCSC is a sister company of JLCPCB, it's a separate business with a different management.
