strawberry:
what odds would be getting under-performing components for half the price?

Half price of Mouser is not surprising for genuine parts. I'm sure they will be fine.
If you really want cheap and risky then get used ones from aliexpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/i/2255800134529480.html

SiliconWizard:
LCSC is a serious asian distributor. You can't compare it with random sellers on Aliexpress.
KG7AMV:
I have had zero issues with LCSC quality, they are just mass volume seller. I have made mistakes ordering parts that had confusing descriptions/like model numbers. Their handling time can be hit or miss 1-2 days is more like 2-4 and 3-4 can be 6-8 some times.
I typically order once a month for non rush work. After a while you will have so many reels of parts you will not know what to do with them all.
Here is a LCSC order i Unboxed.
