I bought two different "Kopp LED Switches":

Kopp 8428: 3W - 35W LED Load, leading-edge only

Kopp 8454: 3W - 100W LED Load, both leading-edge and trailing-edge

In addition to this I also bought different LED bulbs - my lamp needs two of them:

The "technically better" switch 8454 does make more flickering, thus I have chosen the "manually adjustable" dimmer 8428, which officially only takes 35W LED Load max - and here is my problem:

11W x 2 = 22W (< 35 W LED Load)  :--

17W x 2 = 34W (< 35 W LED Load)  0.88A when dimmer on max

20W x 2 = 40W (> 35 W LED Load) This gives the best light!!!  :-+ 0.88A when dimmer on max

When measuring the current of the 2 x 17W version, it reaches 0.88A max as well as the 2 x 20W version, although having different specs in watt?!

However, as the light is much more nicer from the 2 x 20W version, and as it is the same current consumption compared to the 2 x 17W LED dimmable light bulbs, I wonder how to take the LED Load of 35W max into consideration?

Power : Volt = Ampere

35W : 230V = 0.15 Ampere (This should be the limit of the switch concerning LED Load?!)

But I measure 0.88 Ampere with both bulb versions 2 x 17W and 2 x 20W?!

I don't want to risk a fire, but cannot explain myself the limitation of the "LED Load" in this respect as the amperage is equal? I haven't opened neither the bulbs nor the switches so far, so that I don't know anything about their circuit protections...

Taking protection at first place, I obviously must not use 2 x 17W and not 2 x 20W, regardless of the printing on the bulbs...

These are my first LED dimmers, so that any help is appreciated, as I don't have any experiences with them!

ThanX!  ;)
