« on: April 24, 2022, 06:51:53 pm »
Hello Chaps

I would appreciate a little assistance indentifying a part Its stumping myself so any suggestion on what this is and where I could source some would be great. I am just being dumb possibly  :-DD However on the off chance I am not.

The offending article is TO-92 package LMI 6431 AC if these are not availble a suitable replacement that could be recommended would be great as well.

If this is in the wrong section then apologies to the mods

Many thanks

At a guess, it's a TL431. Maybe vanilla, maybe a variant. AC suffix are normally 1% tolerance 0-70'C.

After managing some more time on this subject now:-

Possible candidates so far:-

Or the slighly more updated version I am suspecting either will be fine assumiming these are a match for the original part.

Did the part work before the legs came off? If so, it's possible to file down the package, solder some new leads and cover it with epoxy. You'll need to be extremely careful, when re-soldering it to the board. Wrap a damp piece of paper towel round the new leads can protect them from getting too hot for the epoxy and solder it as quickly as possible.
