Yep, I just had this appear for me. It took 3 submissions for it to be accepted.

At least it is better than my ISP, if you time out whilst replying to the forum it totally wipes your painstakingly typed posting!

Oh good, it's not just me then :-)

I've been getting:

Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again.

as well as the session timeout out while posting message.

as well as problems with unread messages not showing up.

And I don't know if there's been a change with the Google Ads at the top of the forum,
but either I haven't been paying attention or they look different now.  And few of them
seem to have any electronics connection -- I thought Google targeted ads better than that!

I've had no luck posting anything with high-resolution photos either -- don't know if this
is related or not.

Sorry, no idea what caused it.
I didn't touch anything :->

I've had it and I've had the server refusing to respond numerous times over the last few days on 3 different computers, so unless you have been playing with your setup I suggest you start giving your hoster hell as it's not the sort of thing one normally expects from a host.

The error was 505

Still getting "Your session timed out while posting. Please try to re-submit your message."

"Show unread posts" still seems to show nothing.   If I click on
"Click here to try all unread topics", that seems to work just fine.

Well, I guess hoping for magic healing overnight didn't help.

Same problem here. I was trying to update my signature and some session id errors appeared.   :'(

I had to logout several times and delete my cookies to change it.  ;D

And when trying to post this message the error says:

Quote
The following error or errors occurred while posting this message:
Your session timed out while posting. Please try to re-submit your message.

Maybe a mysql tables defrag or fix would correct this problem.

Something I'm facing is when pressing "Show unread post since your last visit" it works Ok, let's says it shows 9 unread post, then I read one of the posts, and press the option again and no unread messages appear, like if I read all of them.

Annoying to have that problem.

When I was trying to delete all unread messages this showed:

Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again.

It should say: "Please reboot your SQL server and try again. Have a nice day!"  ;D

Yes I'm having problems too, as others have stated "No new posts" is a typical result of viewing posts since last visit.

I thought it was a result of the site reaching "critical mass" then self imploding  ;D (one of the comments made by Dave in a recent radio show)

LOL, and trying to post this reply - your session has timed out

Sorry guys, I don't know what to do.
I'm getting forum errors all the time, and can't do any admin functions.
I'm working on it...

I don't know if it's related to the 503 errors, I suspect not as it seems to be a common problem with SMF.

Seems like it is a problem with SMF. Is this a fresh install of 1.1.11 or was it updated from a previous build? In version 1.1.7 and .8 they had a lot of trouble with this happening with a security release for that version. I think it has to do with the theme and the index.template.php. You might want to wipe that out and replace it with fresh files and see what happens.

Problems here too Dave. In fact I only just managed to get here to post this (I hope it posts.)It's taken around 2 whole minutes just to get here. I quite often use the site below to check if there's a problem with a website and it showed the EEVBlog as being down for quite a while :( I've also had problems posting throughout the day too.

Things seem to be, uh, less bad tonight.

I'm not getting timeout errors, but when clicking on an unread message, I
suddenly got dumped back to a login screen.  I was able to log back in
and continue on, but that was weird.

Maybe the physical disk the forum is on is having I/O errors?  Although
I would expect the hosting company to monitor for that.  Actually, I'd
expect them to run everything in virtual machines, and move the virtual
machine if the physical machine is having problems :-)

Well, as long the problem its known , we will wait for the upcoming fix ..

If its a software bug ,  it will cause trouble to many forums based on it, so its not just this one.

Today , after of 5 hours or more of testing , the forum engine  looks again totally healthy to me.

For some reason , the latest fix  created on my Firefox passwords list , an new ( second) EEV login record.

I erased both , did an new login , and by this way only the latest successful login, are stored in my passwords list.

Its advisable to do the same ...   :)

Yes, I changed the site from www.eevblog.com/forum to eevblog.com/forum
I don't know if this is what fixed it, I doubt it, as it seemed to be working a fine for a bit before I did that. And for me to actually DO that in the admin meant it was all working again!
So now you'll have two cookies or whatever.

What happened to me was an healthy auto login by the cookies ,
but there was markings for " Show unread posts since last visit."
But the list was empty ...

Logged off and on , and it worked ...

So there is still some hiccups ,  lets give some time to Dave, so to deal with them.
