Looking for documentation for a TEAC MT-2 Cassette Drive
« on: November 21, 2019, 03:50:02 am »
Looking for connection details and documentation on the TEAC MT-2 Cassette Drive

Note: this is not the streaming drive.  TEAC MT-2ST

Found some documentation that might be relevant http://www.mrt.tas.gov.au/mrtdoc/dominfo/download/UR1989_20/UR1989_20.pdf
But, it doesn't have any connection details

Thanks in advance

Page 30 of this PDF has a very basic schematic, and pp 2-3 describe things: http://www.bitsavers.org/pdf/teac/MT-2ST/MT2ST_UR1991_11.pdf

Don’t be put off by the URL, the document itself says it’s for the MT-2.

Sorry to resurrect an old post. I have a Cristie CS6 unit that uses the mechanism that the OP posted about. The company has a CS5 unit on their website history page and it was made in about 1981. I might dig further too, so thanks for the links, everyone.

:)   nearly fell off the chair when I saw this.

But when I tried to download it  :(

curl ftp://ftp.dreesen.ch/teac/Teac_MT2_user_manual.pdf
curl: (9) Server denied you to change to the given directory

oops, correct URL was   ftp://ftp.dreesen.ch/Teac/Teac_MT2_user_manual.pdf  ( upper case T...)

I have 2 MT2 units, one has a totally hardened capstan roller, the other capstan roller was totally mushy. I replaced both with 3D printed rollers, using innoflex as filament. Yet to try out as I did not yet finish my program to control the MT2.

Similar printed capstan rollers for QIC drives worked out OK.
