Hi everyone I'm new to the forum and I've been watching Dave's vids for a while.
So I'm a third year electrical engineering student currently at Usyd and been looking for work experience(hopefully paid) in the electronics industry. Now I've been applying to all the standard places like Energy Australia, Integral, Transgrid etc and I do not know what my chances are of getting into their programs are. But I know that there should be a hidden job market and places where people don't normally apply to, though I'm not sure what it is and how to look for those opportunities.
Can someone give me some tips on this?

I got my pre-career experience working for a temporary help agency (I presume they have those there as well). Over the course of a year I worked at 5 different companies. Through that I met a lot of sales reps for components and equipment and -THEY- always knew whose business was growing and who was going to need people.

Altium currently have several "intern" work experience students in and I believe are always looking for more.
If you are interested in/have skills in FPGA/VHDL and/or embedded programming shoot me an email.
Not really electronics design per se, more applications based stuff, but still a stepping stone.
If you are interested in defense, give Thales a try.
Dave.
