Title: Looking to identify this connector
Post by: CambridgeMart on April 13, 2021, 07:35:34 pm
I need to find out what this connector is so I can get a replacement. It's on the low pressure fuel pump on my Subaru; the pump has failed but it £300 for a new one; an identical pump can be bought for £20 as a spare for a Kuboto excavator, the only difference being the connector isn't fitted to the replacement pump. This is the connector in question:

Let me know if you recognise the connector type please.

If it's wire-to-wire I would just cut and splice. I wouldn't be surprised if they chose a custom connector precisely because of your reason.

Connectors are usually a system; not only do you need to find the exact match of housing and pitch, you need to find the right type of contact used and get the crimping tool for it. It's a PITA.
But look very closely at the housing, there is often a logo molded in the plastic somewhere.
Your connector looks like a TE automotive connector.

Or maybe not. Connectors are endless.

As amyk said, if the connector isn't molded into the pump housing just cut and replace with something like a Deutch connector that you can buy at a lot of electronics stores.

Similar connector and story on the Subaru Diesel Outback manual transmission back up switch, and same deal, $200+ AUD for a new switch, or $30 for an identical generic one. I just cut and spliced the cable, been working fine since :)
