maker.moekoe?
« on: September 22, 2022, 12:51:57 am »
I'm not soliciting his channel. I just think highly of his expertise and know how. He makes lots of things that I cannot make. Isn't that something?

Now, I wonder how I can do that one day. Any tips?

Thank you.

I suggest that people have a look at the OP's posting record, particularly number of his OPs and the ratio of his responses to people that have replied.

There are lies, damned lies, statistics - and ADC/DAC specs.

Your question seems unclear, but I assume it's this.

In a few steps:
- experience.. make all the mistakes (or anxiously check each design a thousand times before ordering them)
- don't be afraid to work with modern parts
- use good tools for reflow and soldering
- don't always show mistakes or bad boards, the pinnacle of social media
- have good camera and light setup to create good video's
- lot's of polish

For example.. I've had to add a photograph to an academic paper of a PCB I've made with hand soldering. I've seen other papers where people couldn't be bothered to clean up an ocean of flux, had many bad reflow fillets on SMT components (resoldering them without flux), misplaced components, jumper wires,  burnt connectors, etc.

Now, don't get me wrong. When you're building prototypes in or outside academia this is part of the game. Lots of trial and error, or adjustments for experiments. So my boards were also full of flux residue, resoldered components, a battery holder where plastic was partially melted due to solder iron touching it, etc.
I reworked the badly soldered components with new flux. I replaced the battery holder. I remove prototyping and debug wiring. I cleaned the board. Then took a photo under day sunlight on an A4 piece of paper. Got my "perfect" photo. Then resorted back to prototyping to make these boards a mess again.

Similarily, when I assembled a PCB, I first clean them up make a photo, and then do the smoke test in case of :-BROKE :-BROKE .

Ah another one :-DD

In a way the disruptive nature is a bit in his login name is it not "dastructhm" sounds a bit like "destruct them"

Well show us yours, or are you in a similar situation as I am. Can't have one due to the wives allergy.

I told my friends I could teach them to be funny, but they all just laughed at me.
