Deoxit D5 alternative ?
« on: January 10, 2015, 06:56:19 pm »
I have a new Antenna Tuning Unit and every now and then the Roller Inductor needs cleaning
and the manual states to use Deoxit D5 but thats quite expensive for someone i will only use
now and then so I wonder if there is a cheaper alternative ?

Here is the manual for it, the very last section covers the cleaning

Yes, Teslanol T6 seconded!

If it is really heavy dirt, give it a run in the dishwasher.

Might want to consider Cramoline Contactaclean as well (originally called Cramolin Red).

As it happens, this is similar, if not identical to the active compound in DeoxIT, which has an excellent reputation here in the US (story here).

Conrad UK sells it:
200ml spray can
400ml spray can
