Looks like not much electronics to me, all the gauges are displayed on an ipad. I rather have some 8 bit uC controlling a single real airplane analog gauge/meter, that would be fun to design. Can bus controlled or rs 485. Oh well no time, too many unfinished projects already.

I want to learn more about this.  Looks like this could be in a kitchen?  Never even thought about projection.  thanks

The idea is that in a real aircraft, the outside view is at infinity. Your eyes feel different focused at infinity (more relaxed), but also the movement of your head from side to side doesn't change the view (parallax effect). A collimated simulator redirects the light so that the imaginary image comes from a direction consistent with infinitely distant objects. In this case they use a concave mirror and a convex screen to collimate the images, and multiple projectors blended together to get 180° coverage.

This is about $5k, includes everything including monitors, computer, and bucket style chair not shown.

I know someone with this one, about ~3.6K

Here are some links

I need to get away from this thread before I max out my credit card.

Here is a better pic of the simulator

Seems that there are 3 large and one small monitor, a yoke, throttles, keyboard, computer, and I assume pedals

Does not seem too expensive compared to some of the other simulators that have shown up here

Woh that's cool. The mirror is closed looped via simple sensor to the mirror film surface and control on the vacuum draw.
