I'm now living in Bunbury, Western-Australia, about 2 hours drive South of Perth.
I've noticed literally
HUNDREDS of homes in this town, that still have
old TV masts, probably about 50-feet above their
houses, from back in the days of old/original analog TV/Radio transmission locations, that were difficult to pick up!!

NOW, it's
all irrelevant, (even for the 'later' early analog signals. Not to mention that it is ALL Digital now, & new transmission points.
All that's needed now, are the standard/new TV aerials/dishes mounted directly onto the roof of the houses, however, there is a
plethora of these totally redundant aerials/masts, littering the whole towns rooftops!! Here's a photo of one...

You can't see the 'Guy-Wires' there, and some are poles, and others are small 'criss-crossed' tower frames.
I "
got to thinking", (haha...), that I'm sure a lot of existing or new up-and-coming Radio enthusiasts could benefit from them!!

If I was a
lot younger I would offer to pull some down, and flog them off to the needy!!!

P.S. (Edit)
I don't understand it fully, but most of the OLD stuff was 'Horizontally-Polarized' of something!!
