Hi,

I made a repository on github a while ago. It is useful for users of both KiCad and PartKeepr.

https://github.com/HendriXML/KiCad-BOM-reporter/wiki

When prototyping this a very handy tool to know were components are located. It can even help to choose between available parts.

Matching KiCad schema components with stock components in PartKeepr update!
« Reply #1 on: January 18, 2019, 06:24:32 pm »
Today I posted some cool updates:
First the possibility of merging calculated specifications  with schematic ones.
Showed in this thread:
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/projects/lasertrigger-circuit-signals-invalid-exposure/
Second the possibility to define numerical specifications as a range.
So now it is possible to match with resistor values from 10k to 12k, with capacitors larger than 1000uF. etc.
In this way more or less of matched components will popup in the report. This helps making decisions about which component to actually use - and where to find them.

Main features

  • Matching
    • allow coarse or fine matching, depending on how many component requirements are added in KiCad
    • having a - in the component value in KiCad shows available components of that component kind, filtered by its requirement restrictions. Use it to quickly show all your op amps for example.
    • report stock components that match a range of values
    • share specifications between components in PartKeepr categories
  • Display
    • display E-series, see at a glance how general or special values are
    • display max voltage and max current of resistors when powerrating is know.
    • display max current of zenerdiodes when powerrating is know
    • display calculated specifications besides schematic values
  • Update PartKeepr
    • update descriptions with uniformly generated ones, also showing inherited parameters
    • update part names with uniform formatting
    • import matched stock components in a PartKeepr project
    • create parts that aren't in the PartKeepr database yet.

Maybe you should post this in the KiCAD section instead?
https://www.eevblog.com/forum/kicad/

In the "General Chat" forum, you seem to be talking to yourself...  ::)
I assume some KiCAD users will be more interested. (Can't comment myself, since I am not using KiCAD so far.)

You’re right, I reposted at https://www.eevblog.com/forum/kicad/matching-schema-components-with-partkeepr/ with some more details.
