With the ubiquity of USB this actually a pretty clever solution for providing a solidly mounted hook that's easily removed.  If 3M Command hooks weren't a thing, this could be really useful.  But they are, so it's kind of left without much a niche to fill.  Actually, this still might be superior for rough surfaces, as long as there's enough glue, that's one area where Command hooks and similar tapes don't do so well.

V2 is going to have wifi and an app.

Then your hook will be ready to remove when you get home.

it marginally aids in removal, if you don't have access to a knife.
