Current BMW Commercial Test Equipment Prop

One of the current BMW commercials (song by AC/DC) uses some sort of test equipment prop. Is it real gear or a prop?

It may be a prop, the real one doesn't had that screen:

That doesn't mean that it didn't existed an equipment like that to test the car the first times, who also doesn't mean that the text equipment is real and not a prop, but on the original car it isn't present.

I am working for BMW since 2006. Here in the Germany headquarter I sadly never saw a commerical with AC/DC in background.

This one is very good. Specially because is a recognition of a competitor, not like most of the ads that I see mocking the competition.

It's probably a real piece of test equipment, an old voltmeter of some sorts. I guess they fitted it in for the commercial, otherwise there'd be no clue to this being an all-electric car.

EDIT: could be some Heathkit meter, actually.

That piece of equipment looks like a highly-modified Heathkit meter.  The brown knobs and cabinets are from that era.  The metal-skirted knob and binding posts on the right look like ca. 1960 Hewlett-Packard hardware.
