I tried teflon tape before, but had the same microdrips you are describing. Switched to Loctite 55, had no problems ever since.

That's just Teflon tape in a different size.

no even close ;) Loctite 55 is a thread impregnated/covered with a sealant putty , basically same product as "Tangit uni-lock"

btw.. nothing wrong with Teflon tape as long as you don't want to "turn back" by a few degrees to adjust the position of the fitting. you can rotate backwards to adjust with hemp, thread , sealant putty but not with teflon tape.. teflon will break/tear on the tiniest backward motion and the join will start dripping.
