I do stick welding ... very badly. I wish I could see what I am doing. Most of the time it takes me too long after the arc strikes to focus and get my bearings and by then I've already burnt a hole right through the work.  :(

If you don't have an auto darkening helmet get one, I find being able to quickly adjust the shade level means I can see everything and get on track quickly.
