Interesting, I would have assumed that very specialized companies like this do not do stuff like this:

Believe it or not, pointy haired people do exist!

This ip link is quite suspicious

http://www.minicircuits.com/homepage/homepage.html

It looks suspicious but I think it's fine - just Minicircuits not using a domain name for some reason - most of the links from their homepage go to that IP address.

Yeah, I was a bit surprised to see that sale when I went to their website this week at work to buy some filters.  It's not as strange as the Fathers' Day sale at Front Panel Express, though...

Thank you for sharing the information.

Does anyone have recommendations as to what parts from Mini-Circuits are low cost and 'high performance' for their cost relative to other options for the function that would be particularly attractive to look at to get for personal RF/T&M hobbyist general project inventory?

Obviously they make many excellent devices and modules, but usually more in the category of what one would select and obtain specifically to suit the needs of a predetermined project given their specification and also cost.

Maybe some of their MMIC amplifiers or transformers or directional couplers are particularly generally handy?
I'm a bit out of touch with what of theirs is commonly popularly used, for instance, in the amateur radio community for HF / VHF / UHF / SHF applications.

Perhaps there are other things that work well with test & measurement setups if they have, say, attractive attenuators or filters or limiters or something.

As I recall they had some nice kits also, though I'm not sure whether it'd be more useful to just be selective and standardize on more of a couple particular parts that are most likely to be useful rather than a couple of a wide range.

I have a couple dozen attenuators from them in my home lab.  They're a good value as long as you don't need to go >6 GHz.  They have some fairly narrow-band LNAs that look like good deals below the microwave range, but their stuff is pretty low-end in terms of specs.

I don't see any links to that IP address on their website. On the other hand, http://www.minicircuits.com/holiday/holiday2016.html works just fine.
I refuse to use AD's LTspice or any other "free" software whose license agreement prohibits benchmarking it (which implies it's really bad) or publicly disclosing the existence of the agreement. Fortunately, I haven't agreed to that one, and those terms are public already.
