On Friday, I realized my microphone headset was broken, and as I have a Teams meeting on Monday, I ordered a new one – with bunch of other stuff – from Verkkokauppa.com, using their "same day local courier", fetch.fi. First of all, it's actually "next evening" local courier, since I ordered after 14:00. I got a SMS notification with one hour window and a link to a tracking page. Well, the tracking page delivery estimate started stretching, until it was an hour and a half late, with the courier a few km away. I received the final "Almost there" SMS –– and suddenly the courier marked the delivery failed. (They obviously decided their day was full. There was no notification of delivery issues on their web page, or in the SMSes I received, no warning about delivery issues at any point.)
This was my first, and definitely last time, trying these local couriers here in Helsinki. It seems their customer service is on the Post Nord -level (think South Park
S17E02).
These firms just aren't reliable enough to spend money on. If you care about when and if you get what you ordered, don't use fetch.fi!
(In comparison, I've only had good service from FedEx and DHL here.)
