Mount a Cable with a Plug?
(1/2) > >>
Lord of nothing:
Hi
I got a special Cable with an USB (and other) Plug on both end who one end must be inside a Waterresistant Box to prevent small crawly Animal from shorting some bare PCB out and help to maintain a stable Climate during the Winter.
So the USB Plug (and other) must fit truth the Hole and it must be Waterresistant close.
Can I use such thinks: https://www.delock.de/produkte/G_2061_Kabelverschraubung.html ?
It seem the Plug and so on are a little narrow.  :-\
Are there other Mounting solution without damage the Plug and Cable?
Thanks

That’s called a “cable gland” in English by the way.

So… you are asking how to get a cable through a cable gland without removing the connectors that are already mounted on the cable? Not gonna happen unless the connectors are only trivially thicker  than the cable itself.

I’m not aware of any cable glands that come apart into halves, but maybe it exists, or you could 3D print one, or turn one on a lathe, split it lengthwise, and use sealant to close the gaps.
I just googled and they do exist. Search for “split cable gland”.

Another option I can think of is to cut the cable apart and attach a weatherproof sealed connector to it, with the mating connector on your enclosure.

Sadly the Company not sell any Connector for the other Side.
I hope the will make some other side soon to. USB is good but sometimes it sucks like now.

I like to use Glasfiber Cable since the fit easy together.  :=\

use one of those cable glands that big enough to fit the connector through, then wrap the wire in tape, round piece of rubber or similar so it gets big enough for the seal to tighten down  on it

TimFox:
Split cable glands used to be ubiquitous for permanently-affixed line cords.
