Mouser has only one warehouse: the one at their Texas headquarters. --- End quote --- I guess that pretty much answers the question of likeliness ;D |

This is a usual pattern - companies just change their policies overnight, for whatever internal reason, without updating their websites to reflect correct information. It might be a company-wide policy change, it might be just one middle manager messing up which affects only part of the orders, for some time. It might be a panic decision, for example if they hear from their courier company that they have resource problems which could cause delays (or add pressure for price increases!) unless the number of shipments goes down. Or, it might be just a random mistake made by a sole worker who understood the company policy wrong. In any case, this results in people having different experiences and needless bickering about who's right, when in reality everybody's right, except of course the company who gives conflicting information. |

No one's "bickering about who's right" Siwastaja, just thought this might save someone the waiting. If bickering was the point, I would have started with how happy I was to get my parts ordered in May, expected in June and delivered in December.... I think it's a long term thing anyway, as just had a look at their email once one of the backordered parts was in stock, they clearly changed that one to say: "We will ship your order when all products arrive In Stock. Contact us if you would like the products that are In Stock shipped now." Read "shipped now" as "pay for delivery" Best |

Things may have changed, but most of the big suppliers will allow you to choose weather to do partial shipments as the items are available or to have them hold the order until all items are available for just one shipment. Another option that many will have is for an initial shipment of all "in stock" items and then hold all back orders until the order is complete. These options allow the customer to control the wait as well as the cost of shipments. An order that is shipped in two, three, or more different shipments can wind up costing more for shipping than for the items themselves. I always pay attention to what is in stock and what is not and adjust my shipping preferences as needed. I presently have some resistors on back order from Mouser and they have been keeping me informed of the status via e-mail. I did not need to make any special request for this. And yes, when they ship I will pay more for the shipping than for the resistors themselves. But that was my choice and I knew they would be back-ordered when I placed the order. |
