Oddball Concepts for the bored electronics engineer
« on: October 14, 2016, 08:22:05 am »
my oddball concepts for projects, if I only have the time, some are just kids toys. all concepts may work? but Not all are practical as salable products. all are missing their electronics needed to make them work. after seeing Solar Roadways. I thought why not add my own List of odd concepts for projects. so if you would like to have a go, at making one or two of them a reality, then your free to go for it.
Note- this shake and charge unit he is another mans project

shake-to-charge flashlights employ a magnet passing through a coil of wire to create electrical energy,
which is stored in a capacitor and used to power the light source

1: the human rear-view mirror, eyes in the back of your head video eye-wear, yes I can still see you. electronic eye-wear. or 360 lens.
its simple cctv on your sunglasses. add a hat periscope camera for the Footy game.
2: the infinite led power outage light, it is always on, but 60% dimmer when switched off. its a smart AC light bulb with a embedded battery.
3: shake & charge runners /sneakers embedded pedometer & blinking LEDs wifi-to-phone -other tech toys
4: Solar powered hat or cap with electronic insect repellent, maybe better then the ozy hanging bottle corks.

5: Solar powered hat or cap or jacket with electronic mini thermoelectric air conditioner or fans
embedded electronic clothing maybe just a toy but if a jacket keeps you cool or warm.

6: Solar powered surf brand with embedded electronic shark repellent unit.
the concept is to make a self contained package, no wires hanging out of the brand or leg unit boxs.

7: aftermarket rotating charge hubcaps with blinking LEDs at night add wifi-to-phone or wifi-to-center console.
people do buy this stuff if it works,  but is it legal,

8: car exhaust tip with mini rotating charger with blinking LEDs. uses exhaust gas's to power LEDs.
the idea is a self contained package that needs no add wiring to the vehicle.  just pop on the exhaust tip.  ;D

8: Solar Garden lights with more grunt. 5w or 10w units.    upscaling an old idea.
9: Solar Garden electronic insect repellent units.  works like Solar Garden lights

10: the Solar Powered Letter Box, has two motorized rollers top & bottom that pull Mail inside the Letter Box, out of the weather.
battery charged over time. the Solar Powered Letter Box also has a LED light box for the street number at night. can add wifi alert link to phone.

11: Driveway Turntable, rotates car 180 degrees in your driveway, just park on it, & use special remote.
may take upto 30min, its a steel Disc set in to the Driveway on industrial roller bearings,
with motorbike chain looping below deck, to a 500W AC motor with 100:1 Ratio gearbox.

I share the concept information that maybe be useful to everybody here.

You'd sell thousands and thousands of those.

Every P plater driving a rice-burner would want one.

The key is not whether the LED will blink, but whether a mechanical housing reliable enough to clip on and suit vehicle with different exhaust diameters.

here is an exhaust tip power generator ok so it needs a metal housing to increase its efficiency, but you get the idea. as for size of the exhaust tip opening needs work - hose clamp adapter or somthing
