My power saving measured worked!

(1/1)

paulca:
I have contributed to quiet a lot of threads of power savings in the home.

After a year trying to limit my electricity usage to as low as I can go without unduely effecting my quality of life....   I finally got a concrete non-estimated reading by my retailer.

I phoned them up this morning after they had a few days to process it.

I was £44 in credit.  Hmmm...  "That's not what I was expecting."

"That's after your credit settled your quarterly bill."

So my quarterly bills where £320 or there abouts.  So I saved about £364 or about 30% last year!

This year I added an off grid solar power source for the office, with some incremental upgrades it should, I hope, take another 25-30% off that bill next year.

I'm basically down to the high power stuff.  Laundry, oven, coffee machine.  Those are a little harder to replace with off-grid gas or small scale solar.  However, I have finance clearing on the natural gas heating upgrade and hope to take out more finance on roof top grid-tie solar.  If I schedule high power items for sunny days I could cut my quarterly bills to <£100!
