My remote home lighting setup

I made a post on my website about my wireless home wiring system I hacked together. I essentially used one wireless system to control the remote to another older system. One works on 315Mhz while the other works on 433Mhz yet they still interfered with each other for some reason. Anyone have any idea why that is?  In the end I was able to find a way to keep them from interfering by making sure I was never in a scenario where both were transmitting at the same time.  I have a more detailed write up on my website
