I placed an online order with Digi-Key on March 10th, it still has not shipped as of this evening, March 19.  I've been calling DK daily all week.  Since it has been sitting now for SEVEN business days, they said they would expedite it.  We shall see.

They do say they have 80 warehouse employees in quarantine.  Also, their 800 number was not working today, I got "this mailbox has not been set up yet" and then hugh up on, 3 times.  That also sounds pretty serious.

The ship out time for digi-key (ie from the time of order to pass to UPS) now become 5 days and the delivery time for UPS to HK still around 3 days.

I placed an order online with Digi-Key on March 10, started calling every day after about 5 calendar days.  Friday the 19th their 800 number went to "that voice mail box has not been set up yet" and hung up 3 times, so I used the online chat.  They finally shipped it out Friday evening.  So, that is SEVEN business days, and at least 4 phone calls.  They did report they had 80 warehouse staff in quarantine, that has to really mess things up.

Just recently for DigiKey sending to the UK there has been maybe a two day extra wait, but that has been rare and was the fault of the courier (UPS), not because it was shipped late.

I have had a part that was in stock when I ordered it be out of stock when they went to ship it, but they sent the bulk of the order straight away and then an alternative part with free shipping after asking me if I wanted to backorder (with a SIX month backorder!). Obviously I just selected a different 0603 resistor...

I got a similar 5 day delay on a recent Digikey order.  I got an email reply saying the delays were Covid related . . .

Tried 2 times, order on my time Monday (US Sunday night), ship out US Friday and arrived Hong Kong on Monday.

Shipping delays on average have become noticeably longer with the Covid crisis. It all depends on the country of origin and the parcel service, though. Customs in particular seem to have become pretty slow compared to normal.

Ordered from Digikey on Thursday of last , Domestic order to Ohio,  a handful of parts, all in stock. Today is Monday, was told shipment has not left factory, COVID..  Was told possibly another 5 days to ship.  Told Lady I was not angry and can be quite patient.

Placed an order last week with Digikey (<10 items).  Just chatted with them and they said it could be ANOTHER 5 days before it ships.  The gal told me it could be JUNE before they get back to normal.  Not sure how they just fell apart like this.

Something happened after that ice/snow storm. After that storm, they just fell behind. That being said, Mouser and Newark seems to have similar delays according to their website.

Placed a small order with Digi-Key  on 3/25, got it on, I think 4/1.  So, they must be catching up on their backlog.
They shipped on 3/29.  Still not the same as their traditional service, but not horrible, either.

Found that DK only generate the UPS shipping label and the actual ship out is in the US Monday and arrived yesterday. Still take a week from order to receive.  :-//

UPS still provide an amazing service which only took 3 days to ship to Hong Kong  :box:
