Hi I'm Andrew, a tinkerer at heart with no formal training but a deep desire to build what I can, repair what I cant and above all avoid retail prices at all costs.

Hi there, I'm a newcomer with a degree in microelectronic technology and about 20 years of background in manufacturing on different types of equipment. Currently in NZ. Excuse me in advance for my terrible spelling which is even worse while in native.

Hello All

I'm a recently retired technician, forty plus years in the business, working in Medical Diagnostics, Telcom and 25 yrs as a T&M Engineering tech, which encouraged my e-obsession. I have collected a wide assortment of gear, components, and accessories. I also have a DIY audio habit as well.

After reading seemingly endless V-REF threads, I felt the need to join up and contribute in some way. Current major project is building discrete Zener V-Refs as a way to learn the nuances of tweaking for stability (inspired by the Conrad Hoffman thread). I'll work my way up from there using primarily using on-hand inventory.

Every browse here provides opportunities to discover & learn, glad to be a small part of it.

Hi everyone,

I'm Mike. Mostly lurking, I signed up a few years ago and noticed about a month ago that my account was purged. I guess this is a regular maintenance practice for low activity accounts that don't post. Anyway, now I am signed up again. Hopefully this post keeps me above upcoming account purge thresholds. Even without posting, it was valuable to be able to set some interesting threads to "watch".

Anyway, I am a Electronics Engineering Technologist but for most of my career, I have been more involved with computers, clusters and Linux. Current hobby interests are retrocomputing, FPGAs (mainly Altera), microcontrollers.

Hi everybody,

I'm a Electrical Engineer working mostly on PV installations and electrical projects.
I've found this community by mere chance, surfing the internet, and a post pointed up here. Exploring I saw the quality and effort Dave puts in it's videos and it's incredible work!

I was quite the gamer type, but I decided to drop the ball when titles didn't meet my expectations anymore and there's a generalized downward spiral right now, especially when politics became the norm in video games, not to mention how expensive it has become.

Hi all,

New member here. I work primarily in electronics repair and diagnostics, mostly board-level troubleshooting and general test/measurement work. Background is hands-on rather than academic, with a lot of time spent fault-finding real hardware, power supplies, interfaces, and mixed-signal systems.

I’ve been gradually upgrading my bench and trying to be more deliberate about measurement accuracy and workflow, which is what led me here. I’ve followed EEVblog content for years and finally decided to participate rather than just lurk.

Looking forward to learning from the discussions and contributing where I can.
