Hi. I am designing a battery powered product that will use an external charger and Li-Ion or Li-Po batteries (preferably about 7V, 2Ah). Low volume, so I am considering piggybacking off the Nikon camera battery which ticks all the boxes. I have having a real difficult time finding the mating PCB mount contact block for a standard 7V Nikon battery EN-EL15. There are five contacts, each 2mm apart. The mating contacts look like blade types as shown in one of the images. I know manufacturers in China use these blade type connectors in their aftermarket Nikon battery chargers. But I cannot find any info on the connector. Does any body know where I can source where I can source these blade type connectors (in the charger, not in the battery) and what the part number is? Any help greatly appreciated. cheers, Dave |

Looks like they are just called "blade type battery connector". There's 2mm and 2.5mm pitches. https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/MISTA-5Pin-pitch-2-0mm-Laptop_62024908878.html |

Wow thanks! That is a start. I will contact them about a 5-pin version of "SMT battery connector", although a pin-through hole version is not out of the question. Maybe get a drawing and get some samples in. This battery connector does not have locating protrusions at each end. If it goes well, I owe you a beer. |
