I guess these days we can just buy an atmega and a decent little TFT!

Can you post a synopsis for those of us not on Twitter?

Oh. It’s got nothing to do with being a twitter member or not. The guy seems to have changed that post to private after I linked to it (and lots of media embedded it and referenced it) — I just wanted to link to the source and not a clickbait website, but oh well.

Here’s an article: http://www.distractify.com/trending/2017/09/21/lSlMc/med-device-gameboy (http://www.distractify.com/trending/2017/09/21/lSlMc/med-device-gameboy)

That's actually kind of brilliant, if you think about it. Why not a portable game system? It's an off the shelf system that is tested and works with minimal development time needed.

Lol that's great!

Wonder if they just ran across a supply of game boy screens and realized it would make sense to use them.   This would not really affect the reliability of the actual medical device either if done right.

Funny thing is, if one of us tried to sell something like this as a piece of medical equipment we'd be laughed at and they would never certify such a thing but if you're a big enough company you can mostly do what you want.

It sounds as though many devices used not only the display, but actually the unit itself, including the cpu.
