I just spotted this text in a datasheet from Murata:
This PDF data has only typical specifications because there is no space for detailed specifications.
:wtf:

I think it is a part of their lawyer approved template. That text is present on every Murata document, and even though it appears to be a footnote, it does not really apply to any specific parameters, it is just there.

I disagree, it has nothing to do with legal/lawyer issues.
It's a marketing issue in a positive sense.
All suppliers need to get an idea of what to develop, design and produce for the market, and the only way is to ask the customers.
For the big, direct customers, this is no problem. But how do you handle SMBs?
The teaser "this datasheet is incomplete" is a way to get feedback from SMBs through callbacks asking for more info, and thus getting inputs for new products.

Whatever the reason the wording is pretty bad. If they want prospect customers to contact them it would be better to say something like
This datasheet is a general and limited specification. Please contact us for more specific and recent information.
