Imagine reviving that design with modern engine technology.
A 3.5 digit 4.5 digit 5 digit 5.5 digit 6.5 digit 7.5 digit DMM is good enough for most people.

Imagine reviving that design with modern engine technology.

Designing building, flying and troubleshooting the XB-70 and similar experimental aircraft is what allowed us to develop "modern" engine technology and "modern" aircraft designs.

Go back and read about the history of the Bell X-1. It was the first manned aircraft to fly faster than the speed of sound. Today faster than sound flights are routine.
