I typed up a new thread and I know to save the text to notepad........because after finishing it and adding pictures, I hit post, and then it half hangs then took me to a blank "new topic" screen. So I waited 5 minutes and re-tried. So it will probably get double posted.
Does that happen to u often on forums ? Same thing happens on OCN (overclock.net)

see and this small 1 went through fine, and immediately posted, the other was longer about a radio repair I'm starting

Yes it is common for post sometimes to get lost in cyberspace or the response back to the sender gets lost. This can be caused by timeouts and many other network related factors.
As you mentioned, type your message in notepad or at least copy your message including formatting to notepad for backup before you click post button. If something goes wrong, first check if your post got stored in the forum. If you can't find it, then try again from your notepad copy until it goes through.

At the very least do a Ctrl+A and Ctrl+C before hitting the Post button.
It's saved me a couple of times (and several times I've cursed because I didn't).
