Congratulations!

It's always reassuring just how popular channels/sites etc about things that interest is apparently dying in are.

Something wierd just happenned on my LED filaments vid - currently 112K views, would normally expect about 10-20K. And most of that was before it made Hackaday.
No idea what happenned there....

Hackaday used to give a good boost in views, but now seems to hardly make a blip.

No, that's total over the life of the channel. It's about 20M per month.

Yes - I think most HAD readers that are interested are already my YT subscribers - it doesn't make nearly as much of a blip as it used to. I think I must be close to the most frequently hackadayed channel over the years...

It at least is better at making comedy than most TV shows though.

Certainly hard work, so well done!

Maybe it doesn't for you big whales, but for the us little fishes it can increase the view count by three orders of magnitude. :)

That is crazy, but I watch and know a few others as well as introduced people to watch both yours and Mikes (Mikeselectricstuff) video's without fail when they are released, sometimes more than once if I use one for referencing.

I have recently starting re-listening to TAA, on episode 23 at the moment from 2010 / early 2011, quite entertaining to hear your predictions for "5 years time" :)

What I meant is that I think the view count has dropped a lot from Hackday. So it's not that fact I don't see it because my channel is bigger now.
I've looked at the actual hits from Hackaday after I get linked there and it's pretty small, like in the hundreds. IIRC It used to in the many thousands, like 10 times more than now.
So perhaps their audience has dropped, or maybe there is more content on their channel so people don't watch them all, or maybe the majority are already subscribed, or a combination. But I suspect it's not what it once was.

You are going to retain viewers from them for sure, but you probably have started to saturate that audience so you may just be getting their new viewers, who somehow stumbled onto the channel.

What is the advert/watch remuneration like now compared to 2009 just from that channel pages alone (combined advertising), how much growth?

Looking at that trend if it keeps accelerating like that you will have enough audience in 1-1.5 years to potentially double your views. I expect the uptrend is people viewing the old videos for completeness, lets hope there is unlimited people out there to feed the machine.

I think it's just that after seeing a few vids from the same channel  on hackaday, people will subscribe so next time they will have already seen it by the time it hits HAD.

You created an amazing channel.

Sometimes I look at the Keysight or Tektronix channels and it is so sad, they have a few hundred views only on a great video.
It is almost embarrassing compared to your channel.

It seems you created something that lots of people have been waiting for.
Perfect timing and perfect content, mixed with humor and good information.

Thank you for all you do!

CPM has remained essentially constant for the last 3 years or so, so ad income has basically followed that growth curve I think.

Interesting thing if that many older good videos related to the same topics I do now have very few views compared to today, so not many going back and watching it seems. But with over 700 videos that's kind of understandable.
