Odorless flux for 0.5mm QFN soldering
« on: October 27, 2019, 04:25:58 pm »
Does it exist?

I'm using a FluxPlus gel flux and it appears to work well, but it has this rather strong odor.
Even with fume extraction if a bit of it remains on the board after soldering (before cleaning) it has this same odor (which e.g. rosin doesn't when it cools down).

I wouldn't call it odorless, but I've been using Chipquik SMD291 and the odor while soldering is pretty low, can't smell it at all just sitting there on its own.

Same here. I've used the SMD291 quite a bit, and it's fine really as far as odor goes.
