My sort out of my piles of test equipment and electronics continues.
A lifetime accumulating such kit sure does take time and energy to sort through ;D
I delved into some of my lab cupboards today and came across more Marconi test kit than i can ever remember buying :o I knew I had three 2022 signal generators and a 20Ghz frequency counter, but there was a lot more than that languishing in the cupboard.
I am using one of our spare bedrooms as a corral for the test kit so that I can continue to sort through what remains in my lab. As I have discovered, you need plenty of space when emptying cupboards :D
I attach pictures of the Marconi kit I collected together today. There may even be more hiding somewhere.

The next pile that I have collected together is all Rohde & Schwarz test equipment...... that must have been my R&S addiction period then ;D
Then there are the piles of new and boxed ISO-Tech meters and test kit..... I never had an ISO-Tech addiction.... I just seem to have accumulated a lot of that brand of kit over time. Not bad multimeters I must say.
Then there is the pile of FLUKE test kit to sort through...... keep or sell, that is the question I have to keep asking myself as I work through the piles.
I used to actively search for Advantest test equipment as I like their kit and use it regularly. I know exactly what Advantest kit I have so no surprises awaiting me there. I bought a new in the box Advantest Pen plotter today... so that is another bit of their kit for my collection :)
I had not realised just what a test equipment addict I have been and how much I have accumulated over the years. It is a real eye opener.

By 'cupboard' you mean warehouse? :D
I suppose the next question is, do they all have manuals including service manuals?
(It's just an idle curiosity question, since I have no money atm. Assuming your intention is to cull by selling.)
Looking forward to more pics of your T&M addiction. I try to combat mine by keeping the gear visible in racks (mostly.)
It's not really effective.

I have the user manuals for the 2022 units but no idea about the rest. I know I downloaded some Marconi user and service manuals as thankfully they are more available than Advantest and Anritsu manuals.
As to the equipments future ? That is undecided. I am corralling the kit together in order to make a decision on what I need and what can go to new homes.

Seek professional help, or ebay ;D

eBay is the root cause of my addiction :)
I am hoping that selling some of my excess kit and seeing my poorly bank balance increase to a more healthy level will prove cathartic to my feeling of 'loss' when I sell 'an old friend' :)

Oh no, not more temptation !
But seriously, it has got to the point where I did not know what test kit I have hiding in the lab and various other storage locations, The amount of kit in the lab has actually been getting in my way so I could not easily access cupboards or work in there. That is just plain crazy so the time has come to sort through it all. Now that I am retired, I have the time, but boy does it eat up your day doing this sort of tidying and sorting.
I will be placing kit on eBay so that it finds its market value as I have no idea what some of it is worth. Then I will have the fun (not) job of packing and dispatching.
Adding up just my expenditure on thermal cameras damn near gave me a heart attack so heaven knows how much I have poured into test equipment over the years.
Forget Alcoholics Anonymous, I need eBay addicts anonymous :)
