I'm interested in diving into these areas out of personal interest as well as broadening my knowledge base, particularly in the area of electromagnetics. I have degrees in mathematics and CS (BSc CS, BSc Mathematics, MSc CS), but have always been interested in electronics. These days I find myself very much working at the junctions between software and hardware, and I'd like to have a better grasp of EE fundamentals. Thanks to going through a rigorous undergrad program in math and in CS (in which I also took multiple graduate classes), I have a pretty good level of mathematical maturity, but realize that I do need some review of vector analysis and differential equations most likely as it's been a bit of time :) Personally, I believe a graduate degree is merely a license to learn, so I take that to heart to learn new things as much as possible.  :-+

What's some good online resources for this area? I was thinking MIT open courseware might have some stuff, but was wondering if anyone has any particular favorites. I have a solid EE library that I inherited, so I have access to a lot of classic texts as well.

I don't have any recommendations for classes, but I highly recommend Griffiths as a basic E&M textbook. As an undergrad I found the vector calculus challenging but extremely rewarding. Griffiths explains concepts clearly (and uses consistent notation). Given your education background I doubt you'll have an issue with it.

I think it's a fairly widely used textbook for intro E&M classes so you'll probably run into it elsewhere. It's really only E&M theory, so if you want practical applications (e.g. antenna design) or concepts beyond E&M (like circuit analysis) you would have to look elsewhere. I have references for those subjects as well, but none that I'm quite as fond of as Griffiths.

As for actual courses, I have this list bookmarked (not mine), but can't speak to the quality of any of them.

Thanks, I'll definitely take a look at all that. :)

No one else has any opinions on this? I'm surprised.
