Title: Old T&M Gear - ever wondered how they get those component bends?
Post by: Tony_G on March 25, 2023, 03:07:08 am
Hey All,

I just stumbled across this video that shows what a typical manufacturing experience would have been for that old test gear - I have many pieces of gear that have these "perfect" bends in transistor etc, if you've worked on that old gear you would have seen it as well.

I thought it was worth sharing:

I would be remiss if I didn't take the opportunity to point out that the title is also an accurate summation of my entire career...

if you don't have them, get wire bending pliers. They make doing a nice job so much easier.

For real precision get a box of drill blanks so you can wrap any size loop

I have been meaning to buy a very fine tip marker so I can mark bend areas on leads too
