Hi, For a while now I've been having an idea for a Review I'd like to do and I'd like your opinions and suggestions for it.
When i started to get back into electronics about a year ago one of the first pieces of kit i bought was naturally a multimeter or rather two.
My biggest Problem with that was not only to decide on a particular meter but even to decide on a price range. I was lucky enough to actually have some money to spend, but there also was a lot of stuff to spend it on and i didn't want waste money.
So since i bought a couple Meters in different priceranges since then here is what I'd like to do.
I want to round up, say 5 to 6 Meters in different Pricebrackets and compare them to each other, focusing on what your extra money buys you and trying to figure out at what point prices and quality don't increase at the same rate anymore.
so far i have:
an older super cheapy (~15€)
ELV branded CEM re-brand DM9199 (~70€)
Agilent U1241B (~200€)
Fluke 87-V (~400€)
Now what i would like to know is
a) is there any interest in something like this at all?
b) Any suggestions which other meters to include in the lineup?
I was thinking something ~50€ and maybe something around 100 -150 €.
Not sure if there is a point in going between 200 and 400.
Thanks in Advance,
Psycho
