How on earth do you manage to confuse some screws with a tube of silicone...?

Oh well it might come in handy & I'm about 3 quid up on the deal...

this is what happen when different person takes the order and another person do the packaging, and many many persons and jobs in between.

My last Farnell screw-up cost them nearly 100EUR   ::)

I ordered some small DC-DC converter and got this:
http://de.farnell.com/epcos/b84143a25r105/filter-3-phasen-25a-480v/dp/9751173?Ntt=9751173

I don't know what to do with it yet, but I'm sure I'll find a use someday...

That's what happens when you employ not-so-well trained people in your warehouse...

I have had this a lot with Farnell, however.... they always restore their mistakes. Where people work they make mistakes, so cheer up  :)

Also.... a few times I order about 5 decades of the E96 range of SMD resistors, without a single error. Must have cost some order picker a whole day  ;D

Oh, and why don't they do what RS did (still do?) and provide  single order codes for a series of parts, e.g. a complete decade of R's..

If it's a small order and I've paid for delivery, I'd be pretty pissed off even if the item is more expensive than what I had ordered. It would have to either be useful to me or expensive enough for me to sell on ebay and recoup the post, plus a profit for me to be happy. I mean, if I ordered some screws, as part of a larger order so got free postage but I got a tube of silicone, it would annoy me as I'd have to put another order in for the screws and pay for postage but if they sent me an oscilloscope or fluke instead, I'd be happy.

I shop which RS most of the time anyway, as I have a company account form where I used to work so get free delivery.

No so long ago i ordered some stuff from digikey,  100x  0805 size zener diodes worth about $2.50 and was sent $200 worth of TO220 mosfets instead :P
A huge long tube of fets with a label saying 0805 zener diode, hehe

I emailed them and got it sorted tho, they couriered the correct diodes the same day and I just had to drop off the mosfets to a UPS centre

I've never ordered online with Farnell but now I live 5mins from the warehouse I've popped down to the trade counter a couple of times.
I was after a soldering iron tip but it had two order codes for the same item, of course I chose the wrong one and it wouldn't fit my iron even though it was labeled as such. Managed to change it easy enough but would have been a right pain if I had ordered it online and had to post it back.
A good side is they have some good gear for cheap prices in the bargain bin usually because the box is smashed up for something similar.

It would have been frigg'n hilarious if it was KY jelly!
